Volunteer tutor - help a GCSE pupil in SE London

  1. Can you spare just an hour a week for 8 weeks? Then get involved with an exciting educational charity!

We place volunteer tutors in nearby secondary schools, to support pupils preparing for GCSEs on the C/D borderline in English, Maths or Science. Our aim is to help students leave school with 5 A*-C GCSEs including English and Maths, to increase their chances of going on to further education, employment or training. Help us bring the benefits of tuition to those who would not otherwise afford it.

We work with schools all around Woolwich, Greenwich, Lewisham and elsewhere around London. The closest to SE is Coninsborough College (SE6 2SE) - we need people on Saturday mornings at 10am, starting on the 20th September. There is a training session on the 11th September at 5pm.

Details are to be confirmed for the following schools, but they will most likely start around early / mid September

    · City of London Academy (SE1 5LA)

    · Harris Academy (SE9 5EQ) and Woolwich Polytechnic (SE28 8AT)

Applications are open now! Please fill in our short form: http://www.tfaforms.com/332860

Here’s what some of our recent volunteer tutors have said:

"Action Tutoring is the most rewarding tutoring you will do. The kids are enthusiastic, interested, and really appreciate the attention. It is a great project to be a part of."
